Expert: DDoS attacks on Russian sites jump 700% in March
MOSCOW, Apr 1 (PRIME) -- The number of DDoS attacks on Russian companies and authorities spiked by almost 700% on the year in March, and their duration also increased, antivirus software maker Kaspersky said on Friday in a statement.
“Since the beginning of the month, Kaspersky has registered 54% more attacks than in February. They peaked on February 25,” the company said.
In February, attacks lasted almost seven hours on average with the longest lasting for over 90 hours. In March, the average length of attacks reached 29.5 hours.
Hackers also set a new record with an attack lasting 145 hours, while in March 2021, the longest attack lasted no more than an hour and a half.
